Did you hear Applebee’s can divert over 180 million plastic straws per year?

, , , ,

Yes, you read that correctly.

With our conservative estimates, if every Applebee’s restaurant only gave out plastic drinking straws to customers who request them, the largest sit-down restaurant chain in the US could divert 180 MILLION plastic drinking straws per year from ending up in the landfill, waterways, and communities.

That’s about 504,750 straws each day, 3,533,250 straws every week, and  15,310,750 straws every month. That’s a lot of single-use, non-recyclable, plastic drinking straws which can be avoided completely.  Saving money and saving the environment, looks like a win-win for all!

We ask that you join us in our ask for Applebee’s to implement a new approach to their service. Sign this petition and share it with your network!
