August 16-18th, Liberty Station will be home to the 8th Annual San Diego IndieFest. For those of you who haven’t heard about this incredible music festival, it’s a three-day celebration of independent art, music, film, and thought. Stages are set up throughout Liberty Station featuring awesome musical acts and aesthetics to match. This year, IndieFest can brag about performances from Cake, Talib Kweli, Best Coast, Phutureprimitive, and Steve Grand.  Danielle LoPresti and Alicia Champion are the Co-Creators and Executive Producers of IndieFest; we are so glad to be entering into a partnership with them to keep IndieFest as sustainable as possible this year and in years to come.

This year, The 1:1 Movement is providing IndieFest suggestions on how to promote sustainability at the festival and a Green Team to handle recycling during the event. For conservation efforts, Indie Fest is skipping printing t-shirts and utilizing bio-diesel generators. Our Green Team, comprised of our hardworking intern team and our dedicated volunteers, will be enforcing a No Styrofoam pledge for the on-site vendors, as well as ensuring that recycling at IndieFest is being optimized. Just the beginning to work to a future zero-waste SDIF!!

Stay posted on our Green Team’s ongoings though our Twitter handle, @1to1movement, during the event. If you’re coming out to the event, make sure to come check out The 1:1 Movement’s booth for a massive game of Twister! #GreenTeam all weekend and beyond!!
